Episode 1: Pilot Secrets

If you do not know, Once Upon a Time on ABC comes from the same creators of the hit television series LOST.  Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have snuck into each episode some LOST references.

Here are a few that we discovered:

  • When Emma decided to stay in Storybrooke, the clock tower was stuck at 8:15.  On LOST, the survivors came from Oceanic flight 815.
  • On Emma’s car is a bumper sticker.  The bumper sticker is Geronimo Jackson.  This reference is to an imaginary band that had a hit song “Dharma Lady” featured on      LOST.
  • Regina’s house number is 108.  This could be in reference to 4+8+15+16+23+42 = 108.  The numbers that was on The Swan (Emma Swan – coincidence?) or also known as the hatch, Hugo won the lottery with these numbers and the numbers entered into the computer repeatedly.   Not only that, but the numbers had to be entered into the computer every 108 minutes.

Oh there are so many more, we’ll let you finish with the secrets.  Tell us what you saw!

  1. I thought it was interesting when Emma’s car crashed and the pages of the book opened to pictures from Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. Two tales in which a girl living in the real world enters into the fantasy world.

  2. I thought I was the only other person who noticed that! I hope, however, they figure out a way to tie in some Oz references eventually.
